Trust & Safety Guidelines
Essential guidelines for safe classified trading, fraud prevention, verified reviews, and reporting suspicious activity.
The Three Golden Rules of Safe Classifieds
Protect yourself when dealing with local or international buyers and sellers.
Always physically inspect and test the item before tendering any payment. Never rely solely on photos.
Choose busy public venues like shopping malls, bank lobbies, or police safe-exchange zones in daylight.
Never send irreversible wire transfers, gift cards, or crypto to unknown parties promising remote courier delivery.
- Unrealistically Low Prices: Luxury vehicles or premium electronics listed at 70% below fair market value are almost always fraudulent.
- Fake Escrow or Shipping Agents: Scammers claim GTP operates a “buyer protection escrow account” and ask you to send money to a personal email or wallet. GTP does NOT operate an escrow holding service.
- Overpayment & Cashier’s Checks: A buyer sends a fake cashier check exceeding the item price and asks the seller to wire back the difference.
- Refusal to Meet: Sellers claiming they are “abroad on emergency duty” and can only dispatch goods after payment is sent.
Unlike platforms where anyone can leave fake 5-star ratings or post malicious reviews, Global TradePedia enforces strict deal verification:
- Deal-Bound Reviews: A review can only be submitted after both buyer and seller confirm a completed transaction record in the system.
- One Review Per Deal: Database unique constraints strictly prevent review stuffing and duplicate rating manipulation.
- Truthful New Trader Badges: Sellers with zero completed deals are truthfully designated as “New Trader” rather than displaying fabricated seed reviews.
